Relief to Haiti — Helping Orphans and Adults After the Quake

Though thousands of people lost their lives to the Haitian earthquake, thousands more are struggling to survive in the wake of its devastation. Mission to Children’s ministry partners in Haiti are working hard to meet the urgent needs of survivors. One of our current relief efforts is centered on a Christian school in La Grange, a village located north of Port-au-Prince. At least 4,000 Haitian adults and children have found shelter there—many of them walking for two days from the destroyed capital city in order to seek refuge at the school.

As several thousand children and families flee the destruction of Port-au-Prince they are collecting more and more orphans as they walk north to safety in La Grange (a two-day walk). Bodies, illness, and destruction abound. Imagine how overwhelming this situation is to an orphaned child!

It costs about 35 cents per meal to feed one person. 100% of your donation helps bring food, water filters, clothing, blankets, wheelchairs, tents, and urgently-needed medical supplies to this refuge center and others like it. These funds enable Haitian ministry staff to tangibly demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to those who desperately need the hope that only He can give.
