Get InvolvedGenerous and prayerful ministry partners who share our love for at-risk children make the program of Mission To Children possible. Ministry partners are encouraged to be involved in several ways:
PrayerHow often do we leave prayer for someone else to do? Together we pray the promises of God to alleviate the suffering of at-risk children worldwide. We also request prayer on our behalf to be good stewards of the Lord's resources so that we do His work with joy and excellence. Once a year, Mission To Children participates in a global prayer weekend for at-risk kids. If you would like to be informed of this weekend, e-mail us at Info@MissionToChildren.org. Generous GivingAvailable ongoing projects to support and pray for include: Character Cultivation — Character Solutions (an MTC subsidiary) exists to strengthen personal responsibility and interpersonal respect among children and the adults who influence them. Special Projects — Food for Haitians, camps for Filipino street children, Bibles for Chinese children, packages for lepers, and other focused designations. Sponsor a Ministry Center — provides practical assistance to children in various countries including: education, food, clothing, and shelther as needed. Where Most Needed — This designation covers special ministries opportunities God brings our way, under-funded special projects, and operational needs. A Good Thing is meant to be sharedThere are effective ways to help others if you're on a budget in addition to prayer, of course. Read Building AwarenessThe Body of Christ is diverse in gifts, resources, and talents. No one organization can shoulder all the weight of our crippled and hungry world. Not only are we aware of pressing needs, we are aware that often we choose to ignore these needs because they make us feel uncomfortable or make demands upon our resources—which belong to God. Mission To Children was born out of a vision and realization that some of our neighbors around the world are barely surviving from day to day, minute to minute. Many children are hungering not only for physical nourishment, but for the forgiveness of their sins and the promise of the resurrection of their bodies through the redeeming blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 25:40) Likewise, children’s moral development has been stunted in many countries around the world in recent decades. The collapse of the “Iron Curtain” left a moral vacuum in Eastern Europe that adversely impacts children and adults today. War in the Middle East devastates the family structure, disrupts education, and damages the basic communal fabric. The use of child soldiers in Liberia and other African nations left youngsters disabled, disillusioned and without a moral compass. Leaders in several countries have vowed that they can no longer be ethical bystanders in a time when their country is facing a deep moral crisis. The Mission To Children exists to care for, and cultivate Christlike character in, children—especially those at risk. In response to today's moral crisis, we provide character training to strengthen personal responsibility and interpersonal respect among children and the adults who influence them. Knowing the practical needs of at-risk children, we bring international opportunities to the attention of North Americans and invite them to join us in meeting those needs through prayer and resources. In doing so, our donors participate directly in these expressions of God's love. They also contribute indirectly when they enhance awareness of Mission To Children by sharing with others the joy it is to give generously. |
