Cultivating Christlike Character in Bolivia
Our Director of Character Solutions in Latin America conducted a "Cultivating Character" seminar for 31 teachers. It was a 16 hour seminar spanning two days. All the evaluation comments were positive. These teachers influence almost every student in that school. The chaplain of the school told our colleague: "I am so excited. It is just what we need. We were trying to teach values during the last five years but we did not know how; many times I felt frustrated. But now, all the teachers are ready to cultivate character in our students." Character Training is one of Mission To Children's core programs. Every child needs a moral compass. It is a vital factor in the personal and social development of all children. For at-risk children, cultivating character is also a form of prevention or recovery. Not all of these youth understand at first that Jesus Christ is their answer. However, although character training is sometimes presented as a standalone service we offer to teachers and parents, it also provides a natural segue into heart-felt conversations about convictions, Christlikeness, and the character of God. To join with others in helping to fund this character cultivation program, Canadian and USA donors may donate online here. |
