Above: What is the use of character in our lives?

A Father shares his heart in response to Mission to Children's character program.

From Rajahmundry, an orphanage Director writes:

"Not long after learning about the ten character qualities we already see many things changing. I can say MTC's CSI is like a catalyst in a chemical reaction for cultivating character here at our orphanage and I am a living testimony.

"Some of the orphans used to steal from their friends. After they attended the CSI seminar their teachers say they haven't caught anyone stealing like before. Praise the Lord! These young ones are becoming more Christlike through the simple Character Solutions teaching offered by MTC.

"We used to see young school girls not performing well due to their shyness. But as they heard the story of Courage, we began to see them perform with equal determination to the boys."

From Bangalore, children wrote:

CONVICTION
Character Solutions brought many changes in my life. In the past I would not have confidence in anything. The CSI story of the eagle taught me to be faithful and to have confidence in my life. After hearing the story of Abraham I started trusting in God. Now I am having a good relationship with God.  - Pretisia, 16 years old

COURAGE and KINDNESS
I really thank God for letting me learn Character Solutions because I learned so many things. Before I was a shy and fearful person. As I learned about CSI, I see myself becoming bold.  I was an unkind and impatient person, but CSI taught me to be kind to others.  It was difficult to forgive others but now I have learned to forgive and take everything easy. I’m so thankful to God and so happy. - Inchineile, 12 years old

SELF-DISCIPLINE
I thank God for giving me this opportunity to learn through CSI.  The story of Wilma Rudolph inspired me to have self-confidence in order to achieve my goal. I put my whole trust and faith in Jesus Christ. I gave Jesus first place in my life and I believe He is always there with me to focus on worthy goals. – Naomi, 13 years old

WISDOM
Cultivating character has brought many changes in my life. I learned from the ants, they are hard workers and have unity. They don’t have any commander or leader to lead them, but they know their own responsibility. I have learned a great deal from this small toiler, who shows such amazing wisdom. Why can’t I?

Ponchai.I compare my past life with the foolish builder who did not listen to God. Now I realize that God is pleased with the person who keeps His Word and does it. God gave me His good wisdom to be a responsible person and to make good decisions in my life. I came closer to God. Jesus Christ is my greatest Teacher. – Pongchai, 16 years old

THANKFULNESS
Character Solutions has brought many changes in my character. I have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. I also have more zeal to serve Him. One character quality which changed my attitude completely is “Thankfulness.”  I had the habit of complaining and grumbling. I was never content in my life. I never used to express any appreciation to others. I realized how important it is to be thankful always. I thank Jesus for His blessing in my life. – Lydia, 15 years old

KINDNESS
The story of Mother Teresa encouraged and inspired me to be gentle and kind toward others. And I have learned to forgive others, even if they hurt my feelings. I thank Jesus for His unconditional love. I changed my life to show good character toward people. – Susanglemla, 13 years old

From Bangalore, a report from the Mission To Children's President:

Leper friends I was visiting with said they appreciated MTC’s long-term ministry as community builder and peacemaker. Children and parents crowded into the community center we built and heard about Character Solutions and Christlikeness. “Do you want us to provide this training when we return?” we asked. With no hesitation, they responded, “Yes. Please. We need this for our children. We want to do this!” A team of young adults within the leper village volunteered to help implement this program. Previously they lived in Beulah Home as children. One is now a registered nurse. These young adults demonstrate full-circle MTC ministry!

From Chennai, a Pastor's church finds peace:

A very involved, regular church attendee had a bad habit of gossiping. Many problems arose. During a sermon on good character, God spoke to him. He confessed his sins and reconciled with those he had offended.

A housewife was lying to her husband and stealing from him. They quarreled frequently. One SundaySponsored orphan boys at Rajahmundry. Their Director wrote, "Some of the orphans used to steal from their friends. After they attended the CSI seminar their teachers say they haven't caught anyone stealing like before." she came to church praying, “Lord, please talk to me.” The pastor’s message was on integrity. When she heard a story of Abraham Lincoln's integrity, she shed tears and confessed her sins to her husband. Now peace reigns in their family.

From Haryana:

A school girl named Radha reported that after the Cultivating Character Training, her brother Rahul studying in 7th [grade] quit stealing and lying. This has also been noticed by the parents and at school.
