How long can you hold your breath?
Today, Ramya enjoys living in a clean, peaceful, and nurturing children’s home in Rajahmundry supported by Mission to Children.“How long can I hold my breath?”

That’s a question you might ask yourself if you visited the street where little Ramya once lived in India. And if your senses were assaulted by the same odor of burnt plastic she remembers enduring.
Thanks to donors like you, Ramya enjoys living in a clean, peaceful, and nurturing children’s home today in Rajahmundry supported by Mission to Children. Her new life is a night-and-day difference compared to life in the old slum. Now her heart is released and she is a normal 6-year-old who enjoys games such as Carrom with friends.
She no longer sees begging for food and money as a way of life. Ramya’s getting an education now. And that smell of burnt plastic has been replaced by aromas from the garden that the children enjoy tending.
When we asked her what special memory she has since entering the children’s home Ramya replied, “Coming to know my true Savior.” Priceless! It was there that she learned about Jesus and His redeeming sacrifice. It was there that she gave her heart to Jesus and began learning how to follow Him willingly.
But what about all those other vulnerable children who are not yet rescued?
Many of the kids in areas such as Ramya’s former neighborhood are vulnerable to child labor, trafficking—and spending an eternity without Christ. We’re here because they’re there; we know God wants us to keep looking up to Him and reaching out to them. Thank you for serving Him with us.
